This was so good and even coming in at a heavy 500 pages, I read, savoured and enjoyed every word. The hideous twist at the end had me howling out loud with horror. But the scenes in Japan, although slightly magical and rather fantastical evoke a lost world brilliantly and the characterisations are wonderful.
